What is Boy Scout Troop 300?

  • Boy Scout Troop 300 is a group of boys and young men who enjoy outdoor activities, learning new skills, and serving the community. We are part of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), the largest youth organization in the United States.
  • We are chartered by the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd in Yukon, OK.

When and where do you meet?

  • We meet every Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 10928 SW 15th St, Yukon OK 73099.
  • We have a large meeting room where we conduct our opening and closing ceremonies, work on merit badges, and plan our outings.

How can I join Boy Scout Troop 300?

  • To join Boy Scout Troop 300, you need to:
  • Be a boy or young man who is at least 11 years old, or has completed the fifth
  • grade, or has earned the Arrow of Light Award, and is not yet 18 years old.
  • Fill out a BSA youth application form and pay the annual registration fee.
  • Attend a troop meeting and meet the scoutmaster and the other scouts.
  • Complete a scout orientation and learn the basics of scouting.
  • Take the Scout Oath and Law and become a member of Boy Scout Troop 300.

Do you encourage adult/parent participation?

  • Yes, we do. We believe that scouting is a family activity and that adult/parent involvement is essential for the success of the troop and the scouts. We encourage parents to:
  • Register as adult volunteers with the BSA and complete the required training.
  • Attend troop meetings and outings and support the scouts and the leaders.
  • Join the troop committee and help with the administration and planning of the
  • troop.
  • Become merit badge counselors and share their skills and knowledge with the scouts.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the troop program and activities.
